Week 5 North Coast Adventures

Under the sun we explored the coast line that was first discovered by the explorer Able Tasman. We kayaked with the Orcas, even if we didn’t see them. Crossed through rivers, walked on sun kissed beaches and under a heavy down pour. At the end of the week we returned to Christchurch to sell our car.

NZ Semaine 5

3 jours de randos sur Abel Tasman, 2 jours a pied, un jour de kayak, de jours de beau temps, un jour de douche… mais plein de beaux paysages et de belles plages. Voila pour notre début de semaine. Puis nous enchainons avec la golden coast avec tout autant de plage et de belles choses a voir. Enfin il est temps de se mettre en route vers Christchurch car nous avons une voiture a vendre avant de prendre l’avion.

South Island Week 4 West Coast Style

This week we lived it up west coast style. This amazing part of the country is boarded by the wild Tasman sea and southern Alps. We drove through fog, climbed a glacier, watched the sunset west coast style. We enjoyed the warmth, camping outside and the local west coast beer.

NZ Semaine 4 Cote Ouest

Cette semaine c’est west coast style ! Vos 2 voyageurs entament leur remonté du pays par la cote ouest. Entre plage, brouillard, glacier, grottes, gorges, routes et Weka le programme est assez chargé. Le temps n’aide pas vraiment mais globalement on s’en tire pas mal. On commence a sentire l’été, le short est enfin sorti, les Tshirt aussi. La fin de semaine se termine a Nelson pour préparer notre seconde rando de 3 jours a Abel Tasman.

South Island Week 3 Tramping

A week spent in Fordland, enjoying some of the best sights I have seen in New Zealand. Waterfalls, Keas and doing lots of hiking. We spent a lot of the week being wet in the amazing Milford Sounds before challenging our bodies and minds on a 3 day 55km sea to 1000m hike, through native bush, across wind swept peaks, wild beaches, dolphins spotting and swing bridge crossing.

Semaine 24 – Au marcher

Cette semaine encore je suis au chevet de ma douce et tendre. Nat reprend des forces, nous en profitons pour continuer nos visites d'Auckland et découvrons le marcher aux poissons. Notre recherche de boulot continue également, les australiens viennent pêcher des talents kiwis (ce qui ne plait pas à tous les kiwis) et nous entamons une semaine gastronomique par la visite du marcher français d'Auckland.

Week 24 A ‘foodie’ week Auckland

After spending the first part of the week in bed, getting over my horrible ear infection, I decided to enjoy the end of the week with food. We went to the French markets in Auckland and brought some nice products from France. Then the cooking started, Steak tatar, Brioche…more to come.

Semaine 23 – c’est grave docteur ?

Commençons la semaine par une banale visite chez le dentiste, finissons la aux urgences. Oui vous l'avez bien compris la semaine a été mouvementée. Entre le maintient du blog, la recherche de boulot, le sport, les visites de volcans et les autres activités, nous n'avons pas chaumé.

Week 23 Exploring a volcano

We played with the rubber ducky in the Auckland harbour, had a beer at a cowboy bar. We enjoyed the views from the Auckland harbour and the celebrations for the year of the rabbit. Climbing Rangitoto volcano in the bay of Auckland was the highlight, seeing the wildlife that lives on the volcano and crawling through the lava caves.

Semaine 22 – La campagne Kiwi

Première sortie hors d'Auckland, recherche de travail assisté, rencontre de nouveaux amis sous la pluie, découverte de la campagne néo zélandaise, journée à la plage ... voila le programme de la semaine.

Week 21 Life in Auckland

We moved into our city centre apartment, started to make ourselves feel at home in the city of Auckland. We visited the Museum of Auckland to understand the history of our new home. We started to get use to the changing weather that makes Auckland famous for sailing. Learning the must knows in the city.

Semaine 21 – Dans un appart’

Vive la poste, vive la bibliothèque ! Je sais cela parrait étrange mais quand vous voyagez vous découvrez que, dans certain pays, certain services publiques sont extrêmement performant. Cette semaine nous trouvons enfin un logement et continuons notre recherche de boulot.

Week 20 Arriving in Auckland

We left the wonderful world of Australia to fly to our 5^th Island on this trip, the land of the Kiwi’s New Zealand. We spent the week getting use to the city, meeting friends that we have here. Trying to find the elusive Kiwi bird and learning about the all blacks.

Semaine 20 – La Nouvelle Zélande

Nous voilà en Nouvelle Zélande ! La traversée ne fut pas sans mal. Les premières démarches se font très rapidement, Nat et moi sommes très efficaces. Ouverture de compte en banque, recherche d'appartement, recherche de boulot ... nous ne nous ennuyons pas.
