Week 24 A ‘foodie’ week Auckland

After spending the first part of the week in bed, getting over my horrible ear infection, I decided to enjoy the end of the week with food. We went to the French markets in Auckland and brought some nice products from France. Then the cooking started, Steak tatar, Brioche…more to come.

Week 23 Exploring a volcano

We played with the rubber ducky in the Auckland harbour, had a beer at a cowboy bar. We enjoyed the views from the Auckland harbour and the celebrations for the year of the rabbit. Climbing Rangitoto volcano in the bay of Auckland was the highlight, seeing the wildlife that lives on the volcano and crawling through the lava caves.

Ecotourism on the Mauritius Islands

Having spent one month spilt almost equally between the two Mauritius islands; Mauritius and its little sister Rodrigues I had the chance to see and take part in most of the islands ecotourism activities. Each island has activities to offer, as well as lots of nature to see and enjoy. There are surprisingly lots of differences in the way that tourism has been and is being managed on the two islands.

A long weekend in the Algarve

Olhao's harbor

After our first attempt to go to Faro, that was blocked by massive rain clouds around Paris. We made it, to Faro known as the capital of the Algarve region, the southern coast of Portugal. This prolonged weekend in the sun was very relaxing. The itinerary contained good food, nature, culture and no stress or long car rides.
