Week 23 Exploring a volcano
We played with the rubber ducky in the Auckland harbour, had a beer at a cowboy bar. We enjoyed the views from the Auckland harbour and the celebrations for the year of the rabbit. Climbing Rangitoto volcano in the bay of Auckland was the highlight, seeing the wildlife that lives on the volcano and crawling through the lava caves.

Rodriguez the No Stress Island
Rodriguez an Island 650KM north east of the main island Mauritius is known affectionately by its residents and visitors as the Island ‘No Stress Island.’

Having spent one month spilt almost equally between the two Mauritius islands; Mauritius and its little sister Rodrigues I had the chance to see and take part in most of the islands ecotourism activities. Each island has activities to offer, as well as lots of nature to see and enjoy. There are surprisingly lots of differences in the way that tourism has been and is being managed on the two islands.

L'île Rodrigues à beaucoup a nous apprendre. Son histoire n'est pas très riches, les premiers hommes à y mettre un pied sont des portugais dans les années 1528, mais les bouleversements sur la faune et la flore généré par les migrations successives des hommes à de quoi nous faire réfléchir sur notre attitude sur terre.
A long weekend in the Algarve
After our first attempt to go to Faro, that was blocked by massive rain clouds around Paris. We made it, to Faro known as the capital of the Algarve region, the southern coast of Portugal. This prolonged weekend in the sun was very relaxing. The itinerary contained good food, nature, culture and no stress or long car rides.

Après une tentative avortée faute d'un orage, nous voilà parti pour Faro et la région d'Algarve au sud du Portugal. Ce séjour ensoleillé est fort reposant. Au programme bonne nourritures, nature, culture et peu de voiture.
